stolen identities

"and yet what interested me the most in her was not her beauty, but her character, her entire vagueness of character. she seemed to have no personality at all, but simply the possibility of many types.” by oscar wilde.

inspired by oscar wilde’s idea that “the self conscious aim of life is to find expression,” this editorial explores how art and life reflect each other. we are the artists of our own selves, shaping our moods, behaviors and identities through the art and fashion we embrace. fashion trends become living expressions, turning imagination into reality and offering new ways to see and experience life. but as we dress, act and aspire, we are left with the questions: who do we want to be? who are we really? and is reinvention a part of our true self, or merely a mask?

where we once were

in plato’s symposium, love is portrayed as a longing born from an ancient separation - humans were once whole, powerful and double bodied beings until the gods split them apart, leaving each half to wander the world in search of the missing piece. deeply inspired by annie ernaux’s simple passion, this editorial moves within that same current of yearning. the way one can circle around another person endlessly, even, and especially, when that person is not there. this editorial becomes a study of desire, imagination and the invisible gravity that pulls us toward someone not present in that moment.

shadow

“you cannot understand the meaning of to be without understanding the meaning of not to be” by carl gustav jung.

our shadows embody our inner darkness. the things about ourselves that we hide, the damage we experience and the desires that we cannot satisfy. the so called shadow self was considered to be highly emotional, driven by primal instinct, often violent and usually hidden from the social world by the conscious mind. when we don’t accept the shadows with which we go through life, we don´t accept our soul and our complete whole.

vacatness

“comparison is the thief of joy,” a quote often attributed to theodore roosevelt.

with over eight billion people in this world and our technology nowadays, there is nothing more easy to do than seeing other people’s life. this influences our identity everyday. we see who they are, what they have and it all seems so wonderful. with that however comes the vacantness in oneself. so we wondered - how would our identity shape, if nothing had a meaning, if nothing really matters. would we maybe become more cruel? do we maybe need these influences and comparisons? or would we be able to create a truer identity in a nihilistic surrounding? this editorial invites you on a journey of finding someone’s archive. an archive of a social experiment that analyses the development of a raw identity in a nihilistic surrounding.

aletheia for pomellato

aletheia is a visual exploration of presence, identity and empowerment created for pomellato's iconic nudo collection. inspired by the idea of revealing through concealment, the project reinterprets nudo's powerful simplicity through translucent silk veils, color matched to the collection's signature gemstones. while the woman remains partially concealed behind the fabric, the jewel emerges in perfect clarity, becoming the only defined element within the frame. this inversion reflects pomellato's enduring celebration of the independent milanese woman - one who chooses jewelry for herself as an expression of self possession rather than as a symbol bestowed by others. like the nudo collection itself, whose unmistakable design and vibrant gemstones embody freedom, color and individuality, aletheia presents jewelry not as an accessory but as a statement of essence and personal strength.
